Welcome Letter

Congratulations and welcome to the Willowbrook Jr. Warriors. The program is affiliated with Willowbrook High School and Head Varsity Basketball Coach Chris Perkins. The program is run by volunteers and has no direct association to any Willowbrook coaches, teachers, or staff. Any inquiries, questions or concerns are to be taken up with the program director.

The purpose of the Feeder System is to prepare young players for basketball at the high school level. Through practices and games coaches will stress fundamentals, sportsmanship, hustle and team play. Fighting, foul language, bad attitudes, mistreating fellow teammates/opponents, and general misconduct will not be tolerated and result in dismissal from the program. Parents are expected to abide by the same guidelines or face the same consequences.

We are a member of the DYTBL (DuPage Youth Travel Basketball League) and will play approximately 20 games plus a year end playoff/tournament. The season begins in November and may continue as long as the first week in March. Our practice schedules takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays at the WHS fieldhouse from 6:00 – 9:00 PM (times vary depending on each team) when the school is open. Coaches will advise you of any changes concerning availability. Home games will be in the Willowbrook Main gym and fieldhouse on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings (see schedules). All game/practice times are subject to change, we will do our best to minimize these situations and try to be as accommodating as possible. Each team will be given the opportunity to play in an outside tournament (at coach/team’s discretion).

This is a traveling basketball league and is played at a high skill level. Playing time is not equal and is at the discretion of the coach; however, all players must play unless disciplinary reasons are involved.

Remember, this is about the development of young athletes and is supposed to be about working hard and having fun! Be supportive of the program and your athlete and this will prove to be a rewarding and fulfilling experience for all.
